Short, practical tips for the first hour with ResumeHere.com. Sign in and follow them in order, or jump to the one you need.
Sign in and start from the dashboard
Everything begins at the login page. The dashboard shows your resumes, cover letters, and the application tracker at a glance. Use the search box at the top of any page to jump straight to a document or a guide.
Create a resume and fill in the sections
Open My Resumes and create a new one. Work through the sections in the left column: contact details, summary, experience, education, and skills. Sections you do not need can be hidden, and you can add extra ones like projects, certifications, or languages.
Your work saves as you type
There is no save button. Every change is stored automatically, and a version history lets you go back to an earlier snapshot if a rewrite goes the wrong way.
Pick a template and a colour scheme
The template switcher above the preview changes the layout without touching your content. Choose a colour scheme, font, and spacing to match the role. For online applications, a simple single-column template such as Classic or Minimal is the safest choice.
Check the ATS score
The ATS Score panel in the editor reads your resume the way applicant tracking software does and rates contact details, bullets, dates, sections, length, and keywords. Work through the lowest ratings first.
Match a job description
Paste the posting into the JD Matcher box under the ATS Score. It compares your resume against the posting's keywords and shows which ones are missing. Add the ones that are true for you; skip the rest.
Export as PDF or DOCX
Use the download button in the editor. PDF is the right choice for most applications and email attachments. Choose DOCX when a recruiter asks for an editable file. Both exports look exactly like the preview.
Write the cover letter next to the resume
Cover letters live in their own workspace and link back to the resume they support, so the two stay consistent. The same export options apply.
Track every application
Add each role to the job tracker and move it through Saved, Applied, Interviewing, Offer, and Rejected. Attach the resume version you sent, the recruiter's contact details, and a follow-up date so nothing slips.
Keep references and your email signature ready
Store references with their contact details and an okay-to-contact flag before anyone asks. The email signature builder gives you a clean signature for application emails in a minute.
